Software Engineer Automotive cabin electronics (ACE) software team’s charter is to develop/lead technology domains with highly differentiated sensing, signal processing and network solutions for automotive infotainment in general and digital signal processors (DSPs) and in-vehicle connectivity (GMSL, A2B, Ethernet – E2B). Position Summary and Job Responsibilities: This position will be responsible for developing production ready software following a defined software development process. Products that will be developed are audio/sensor connectivity with proprietary ADI networks like E2B, etc. Position will consist of developing automotive SW solutions – embedded, written in C/C++ and PC/host based supporting tools, written in C#. The person will be responsible for end-to-end software development by taking proof-of-concept technology to production. Develop production ready embedded solutions and ROM based firmware for automotive products Develop middleware software stacks for Ethernet based protocols & ADI proprietary bus protocols like E2B. Also work on cyber security stacks including MACSEC and MKA – Design, development & compliance. Understanding challenges in customers’ SDV and zonal architectures and translating into SW requirements Analyze customer and internal requirements and specifications and translate these into software requirements and designs. Analyze existing embedded software to add features, optimize, fix defects, and/or port to different platforms. Test software designs and code at the unit level (developer tests) to ensure that all requirements are met, and the highest software quality is achieved. Develop automated embedded software tests. Identify product requirement or performance issues. Work with external teams as necessary to resolve issues in a timely manner. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have any direct or indirect reports, but the candidate is expected to be self-driven. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent and 2-5 years of related industry experience. Strong embedded C and/or C++ programming skills with strong signal processing fundamentals. Background in one or more software domains such as: system firmware (including drivers like SPI, I2C, UART), RTOS based applications, Linux/Android based applications, etc. Exposure to automotive infotainment applications (Audio, Automotive Networks like CAN/MOST/A2B) is highly desirable Ability to read schematics and assist in debugging analog and digital hardware. Able to use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for troubleshooting. Working knowledge of software development tools (debugger’s, emulators, compilers, etc.). Experience in object-oriented software design and development (C# preferable). Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment. Creative problem-solver capable of testing and reproducing complex software problems and providing solutions to them. Strong attention to detail. Exemplary verbal and written communication skills. Eligibility Requirements: Willingness to travel 10% of the time.
