Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all . Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. Seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented board design & validation engineer to develop Micron’s next generation Solid State Drive (SSD) products. This position requires experience in hardware design, signal integrity and power supply design and characterization. This would include modeling and simulation for high speed signaling implementations and power supply design including power distribution network (PDN) simulations. Job responsibilities: Technical Expertise : Candidate should have in depth knowledge on PCIe interface Gen5 & Gen6, PCIe Base and CEM specs, LPDDR4/5, NAND memories, ONFI interface (preferred) Strong knowledge on DC-DC converters, Buck and Boost, PMIC, Power Loss Protection (PLP), LDO, Load Switch devices A thorough understanding of Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) requirements is very much important. Hands on experience in performing measurements using low- and high-end Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, Logic Analyzers, PCIe analyzers Document and communicate results with cross functional counterparts. Simulate and analyze design proposals, review results and provide recommendations on optimal design practices to other design engineers. Experience in Hardware design, worst-case analysis, simulations, capture schematic, de-rating and assumes complete ownership of the SSD hardware through the product lifecycle. Hands on experience in hardware validation and characterization of DC-DC converters, LDOs, PMIC devices, I2C/I3C, SMBus, LPDDR5, PCIe interfaces with automation using Python & AI tools PCB back-end process: defining stack-up and via technologies, setting design constraints, signal integrity and power integrity analysis Works proactively with cross functional team members during design, verification and validation Automation of HW validation tests, hands on experience in Python coding for automation is preferred Design and Development: Lead the design and development of Solid State Drives (SSDs) EDSFF (E3.S, E1.L, E3.L) and U.2 form factors, daughter cards, Evaluation and Test boards. Quality Assurance: Ensure all designs comply with industry standards (IPC) and regulatory requirements (UL, IEC). Documentation: Maintain detailed design documentation, test reports, FMEA analysis reports and testing procedures. Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams, including simulation (SI/PI), mechanical engineers, FW validation engineers. Work closely with Micron teams located in others Geo’s with different time zones Continuous improvement: Participate in internal technical, DFM/DFA, Continuous Improvement, Industry standard and other meetings as necessary Comfortable using AI tools Qualifications: Education: Candidate must have Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
