Senior Product Applications Engineer Analog Devices Inc. is a world leader in the area of high-speed mixed-signal signal processing circuits. The Advanced Data-converter Platforms Group (ADG) team has an opening for a senior product applications engineer. This group develops narrow/wideband/ultra-wideband TRx /ADC/DAC products for aerospace, defense, instrumentation and communication applications such as radar, 5G, LEO satellite, and smart phone testers. As part of the Aerospace and Defense marketplace, Product Applications Engineers are exposed to some of the most advanced and experimental use cases available in the Radio Frequency domain. Joining this team will require capabilities in handling both the most technical aspects of developing custom applications, as well as in dealing with the soft skills required for advanced customer support. In particular, this team is experimenting with broadening the support models which have been in place since Analog Devices first entered the marketplace over 50 years ago. In this position you will work directly with software engineering, product engineering, production test, marketing, sales, and field applications engineers to enable customers to move fast from evaluation to prototyping with narrow/wideband TRx/ADC/DAC based designs, ensure a positive customer experience and win new design-ins. Applications teams are very customer focused group and work very closely with customers and Marketing department will be expected over time to help in the definition of future products. In summary, this position will require applicants to be equally comfortable in a lab setting as they are with talking to boards of directors. Handling the leading edge in Software Defined Radio applications means dealing both with the technicalities of experimental use cases, as well as pushing the boundaries of how modern customers find their technical support. Responsibilities Primary technical support to customers to solve implementation issues relating to the use of TRx / ADC / DAC. Support customers by phone, email, on-line forums and on-site visits to present information, answer questions, and debug customer issues. Integrate and troubleshoot software and hardware on evaluation boards. Collaborate with the marketing team to engage with customers to understand, define and document customer system requirements. Define and implement eval board architecture and release plans Collaborate with Systems, FPGA and Software Engineers to define, architect and implement the DSP reference design to accelerate the adoptions of ADI solution. Create technical media (datasheets, application notes, training materials and technical seminars/webinars) that promote awareness, effectiveness and ease of use of Analog Devices’ products. Key Qualifications Strong fundamentals in high-speed data converters and radio signal chain. Experience with RF and mixed-signal systems design and debug. Strong fundamentals in data converters, mixed signal, and processor-based systems. Knowledge in RF, PLL and filters domains is a plus. Familiarity with the role of key RF design specifications (such as IIP3, Noise Figure, etc.) is preferred. Familiarity with bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators and spectrum analyzer.
