About Job Associate Software Engineer, Chennai Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on revamping multiple platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients around the world rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow.  Responsibilities   Develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance Java applications and backend services using Java and related frameworks.  Write clean, readable, and maintainable code following established coding standards and best practices.  Implement well-defined features and enhancements based on functional and technical requirements with guidance from senior engineers.  Develop and consume RESTful APIs, understanding basic client-server communication and HTTP concepts.  Collaborate with product, QA, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.  Participate in code reviews and learn modern software engineering practices.  Write and execute unit tests to ensure application quality and reliability.  Work with relational databases to create and optimize basic SQL queries and data access components.  Work with No SQL databases to create and optimize basic No SQL queries and data access components.  Debug and resolve application issues using logs, debugging tools, and structured troubleshooting approaches.  Use version control systems such as Git for source code management, branching, and collaboration.  Work within existing CI/CD pipelines for building, testing, and deploying applications.  Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.  Continuously learn modern technologies, frameworks, cloud concepts, and engineering best practices.  Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.  Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Java.  Exposure to Spring Boot through academic projects, internships, certifications, or personal projects.  Familiarity with design patterns such as Factory, Singleton, and Observer.  Basic understanding of Spring Data JPA or ORM concepts.  Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.  Exposure to API documentation tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.  Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.  Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker.  Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.  Basic awareness of secure coding practices and OWASP security principles.  Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar coding assistants.
