Job Title: Indirect Tax Analyst (VAT/GST/Sales Tax) Department: Finance – Tax Job Summary: The Indirect Tax Analyst will manage VAT/GST/Sales Tax compliance, reconciliations, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring SOX and EAE compliance. This role partners closely with AP/AR, IT, and external auditors to maintain accurate indirect tax accounting and support business expansion into new markets. Job Responsibilities: Record and process VAT journal entries, adjustments, and corrections, ensuring SOX compliance including EAE requirements; handle multi-currency, multi-GAAP environments and related tax adjustments. Perform monthly VAT reconciliations between the general ledger and VAT returns, ensuring SOX/EAE compliance. Review VAT/GST/Sales Tax returns across multiple countries, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Ensure compliance with local indirect tax laws, including monitoring thresholds and registration requirements. Support statutory and tax authority audits by providing required documentation and explanations. Validate VAT/GST rates applied on sales and purchases within ERP systems. Initiate tax-related payments accurately and on time. Analyze transaction-level data for inconsistencies or anomalies in VAT treatment. Reconcile VAT accounts to ensure balance accuracy and explain variances. Partner with AP/AR teams to ensure correct VAT coding and handling. Maintain and validate indirect tax master data for vendors, customers, and materials. Act as liaison with internal departments (procurement, finance, IT, Internal Audit) on tax implications. Support business expansion through UAT on indirect tax implications of new markets, products, or business models. Assist in automating VAT processes within ERP systems. Participate in tax engine implementation (Vertex). Improve and document processes and controls to reduce errors and increase efficiency. Communicate with external/internal auditors, tax authorities, GPO/RPO, and regulatory bodies as needed. Maintain working knowledge of diverse VAT/GST regimes (EU VAT, UK VAT, Indian GST, US Sales Tax, etc.). Manage language, cultural, and time-zone differences when working with local teams/authorities. Key Skills / Requirements: 3+ years of experience with strong understanding of Indirect Tax/Sales Tax/VAT. Solid understanding of international VAT/GST/Sales Tax frameworks. Strong Excel and ERP system skills; experience with Blackline Reconciliation tool. Familiarity with e-invoicing, tax engines, and reporting tools. Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
