As a Recruiter at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for providing consultation and counseling to hiring managers, external vendors, colleges, and universities. You will clarify recruiting best practices and constraints to hiring managers and ensure that applicants understand the details around compensation, interviews, and offers. You will maintain recruiting contacts and provide recommendations for company representatives visiting colleges and universities. You will be responsible for understanding the hiring managers head count needs and make sure there is alignment between headcount priorities for the department and the business needs. You will participate extensively in the sourcing, screening, and interviewing process of candidates. You will be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of the company’s financial position, competitive landscape, and locations. You will be responsible for hiring team members by maintaining data in recruiting systems, extending and negotiating offers, initiating on-boarding, and finalizing the hiring process. An additional responsibility will be to participate in or lead recruiting projects that support the company’s involvement in ramps, mergers and acquisitions, etc. while focusing on continuous improvement of recruiting processes. Micron is seeking a strategic and visionary Principal University Recruiting Leader to lead the development and execution of our university recruiting strategy across Japan. This role is responsible for building sustainable pipelines of future talent that support Micron’s long-term workforce needs, including New College Graduates (NCGs), interns, vocational school talent, and emerging technical talent programs. As a senior individual contributor and trusted advisor to business leaders, this role will define and implement talent acquisition strategies, influence workforce planning decisions, establish scalable recruiting programs, and build high-impact partnerships with universities and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will drive enterprise-level outcomes, leveraging market intelligence, AI-enabled recruiting practices, and data-driven decision-making to deliver world-class talent at speed and scale. Key Responsibilities University Recruiting Strategy Develop and execute Micron Japan’s university recruiting strategy aligned to long-term workforce planning and business growth. Create sustainable talent pipelines for engineering, manufacturing, technology, and corporate functions. Lead annual hiring plans for NCGs, internships, and early career talent programs. Continuously evaluate market trends, talent availability, competitive activity, and workforce risks to shape future hiring strategies. Workforce Ready Ecosystem Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, technical colleges, vocational schools, government institutions, and industry associations. Drive Workforce Ready Council initiatives and collaborative talent development programs. Expand early engagement strategies to increase brand awareness and candidate conversion rates. Build differentiated talent attraction programs that strengthen Micron’s employer brand. Program Leadership Own the end-to-end governance of university recruiting and internship programs. Ensure consistent candidate experience from attraction through onboarding. Design scalable recruiting mechanisms and operating models that improve efficiency, hiring quality, and candidate engagement. Lead cross-functional projects supporting workforce readiness, talent development, and future workforce planning.
